Our Team
Jonathan Boxall is the Principal Osteopath of Osteo and Physio Honiton
This followed a moment of realisation; walking behind a bent and limping old man, he noticed a profound urge to somehow alleviate his stiffness and
pain.
This experience awakened a latent desire in him to improve quality of life in others; something that continues to inform his approach to patient care. He understands the need for empathy through gentle and attentive communication. As a result his approach is focused and sympathetic, ensuring his patients feel safe and comfortable so that they are free to share their needs and concerns and to relax in an environment that provides the best opportunities for healing. Alongside this, his background in IT gives him
a careful, methodical and logical approach to his diagnosis and treatment
which rests on evidence, knowledge and experience.
Having originally qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Osteopathy at the ESO in
Kent (which specialises in Cranial and Classical Osteopathy), Jonathan
pursued a further 12-month postgraduate training as a certified Classical
Osteopath
Jonathan uses a full body approach to understanding problems and giving treatment. He draws on his extensive knowledge of anatomy, joint function
and postural biomechanics to normalise posture and movement, thereby promoting healing, restoring movement and easing pain.
In addition he is a trained shockwave diagnostician and practitioner, allowing
him to treat a wider range of acute and chronic muscle and tendon problems, making the best use of his diagnostic ability to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.
He mostly treats adults and older patients using gentle movements, spinal
adjustments when it is safe and helpful, and prescribes exercise and other treatment modalities where indicated. The needs of the patients always come first.
