Steve McMullen graduated from the prestigious European School of Osteopathy in Kent, with 1st class honours. He is also qualified in sports massage, dry needling and various taping techniques. It gives him huge satisfaction to use osteopathic techniques to help others, having been on the receiving end of treatments for many years.
Understanding that the cause of pain and the location of pain are not always the same thing, Steve’s treatments aim to relieve not only immediate pain, but also to identify and address the root cause of the problem. He works closely with his patients to explain their situation to them, offers them hands-on treatment in the clinic, and supports this by providing personally tailored home exercises as needed.
His treatment approach favours a range of gentle, ‘indirect’, soft tissue techniques, as well as stronger, ‘direct’, articulations and manipulations, enhanced by dry-needling (a form of western acupuncture), he is always guided by the preferences of his patients.
Steve finds the wide range of osteopathic approaches fascinating, and is constantly looking to expand his own repertoire of skills
