Paul Richards

Physiotherapist

Paul is a senior physiotherapist with over 15 years experience in the field. Paul’s interest in the body first started when he suffered his own injuries while playing semi-professional rugby for Bristol. After deciding that healthcare was his calling, he attended Nottingham University and graduated in 2008.

Since then he has worked as a physiotherapist across many different sectors and internationally. He worked in Singapore initially for 7 years, starting in a hospital followed by a busy private practice. When he returned to the UK he worked for the British military for several years providing rehabilitation to active service personnel.

He then lectured at Hull University on their Sports Rehabilitation degree, where he enjoyed teaching anatomy and treatment skills. In the past 4 years, Paul has worked in the NHS full-time, where he is now a clinical specialist for upper limb conditions in several hospitals across Somerset and also a first contact practitioner in GP clinics.

Paul uses a combination of education, advice, manual therapy and rehabilitative exercise to treat all conditions. While he has expertise treating all areas of the body, he has a special interest in diagnosing and treating shoulder pain.

In his spare time Paul enjoys travel, going to the gym and exploring the South West countryside.
