Lucy Pincombe
Sports Therapist
Lucy qualified as a Sports Therapist BSc (Hons) through the University of Plymouth at Exeter College. This was a 3 year degree course involving her doing a dissertation.
Alongside her degree she worked as a massage and rehabilitation therapist in a chiropractic clinic to further develop her clinical skills and gain as much experience as possible before completing her Sports Therapy degree.
Her clinical skills range from manual therapy to exercise rehabilitation. Since qualifying, Lucy has also completed a Dry Needling Medical Acupuncture course along with becoming Shockwave Therapy trained.
Lucy’s other therapeutic skills include using Sports Massage, Functional Rehabilitation, Joint Mobilisations, Taping, Cupping and sporting first aid.
Lucy enjoys treating a variety of conditions and injuries along with the pleasure of getting to meet new clients at the same time. Lucy has a multidisciplinary approach to Sports Therapy treatment as she does not believe in a one size fits all solution. Her aim is to find the appropriate treatment strategy and advice for each individual she sees in the clinic.
Lucy’s sporting interests include swimming (where she has represented Devon), netball, cheerleading and going to the gym. Her biggest recent achievement was winning Grand champions in the southwest cheerleading championships in 2023!
She is always looking for new ways to keep active, and is keen to give anything a try. In addition to keeping herself active, Lucy is a qualified swimming instructor at her local health centre. Therefore, she is happy to help with advising on low-impact rehabilitation techniques within the water.
