Jonathan Boxall

Osteopath
Jonathan Boxall is director of two local clinics, Osteo and Physio in Cullompton (where he is principal) and Osteo and Physio in Tiverton. He is also a partner, and the director of practice development, at the Natural Health Practice in Cullompton.
He started the clinics in 2009 having moved to Devon from Kent. The clinics have been very successful, and have now expanded to include three additional Osteopaths (Ben Verling, Tatiana Johnson and Richard Simpson) a physiotherapist (Sarah Marek) and Massage Therapist (Gill Harris), broadening the range of skills and techniques on offer. Alongside being a dedicated Osteopath, he is passionate about raising the profile of Osteopathy in Devon, helping to increase public appreciation of its many benefits.
Jonathan was born and brought up in Exeter and attended Exeter School and Exeter College. He left at the age of 21 to pursue a career in Information Technology. Having enjoyed this for over ten years he began to feel an increasing sense that there was something else that he needed to do in order to help people in a more direct way. Having helped nurse his father through six months of profound back problems while still at school, Jonathan slowly recognised Osteopathy was his true calling. He is now a well established and contented practitioner.
Jonathan’s style as an Osteopath is thoughtful and considered. He makes good use of the clinical knowledge acquired during his four-year bachelor’s degree and places great emphasis on understanding patient’s problems. It is with the knowledge gained of underlying causes that he can get to, and treat the root cause of a problem.
With a friendly and attentive manner, he is particular about asking the right questions. Once the problem is fully understood from the patient’s point of view, he is careful in doing the appropriate clinical testing so that the correct diagnosis is reached. He is focussed on solving the issue and will always advise the best course of action, even if it is not osteopathy.

His Skills As A Clinician Include

Medical acupuncture.

Visceral osteopathy.

Osteopathy for babies and children.

Osteopathic manipulation, skillfully applied, as gently as possible.

Cranial osteopathy treatment he will often employ a combination of techniques in order to maximise the therapeutic effect.

He also often uses acupuncture and visceral osteopathy when doing more conventional treatments to resolve lower back pain. He will always consider the patients needs and preferences in treatment.
